根据报道，丰田计划提高电动汽车的年产能，预估明年年产能 19 万辆；2025 年达到 60 万辆；2026 年达到 150 万辆。
丰田公司还计划在 2026 年之前，自主研发设计一种新的牵引电池，并计划到 2030 年达到年产 350 万辆。
丰田的工程技术人员将自动装配线、大吨位压铸机等新兴造车技术和手工抛光工艺、精益生产方法等老派思维结合起来，期望能弥补自身在纯电动汽车领域和其他竞争对手的差距。
